Interesting you did all of them at 80%. I did 90 with the one I referenced above but that is the only I have done that for in a long time. A few years back I often, not always, would run less than full effort but never saw a benefit either way but my sample size wasn’t very large.

Normally run 100% all the time, difference here is the race Jubal set up is only 3 weeks away and wanted them to come back with a chnace of making the race.

Ok, gotcha. That was also part of my trying 90% this time. Was groggy right after, but if RTG now, so have to decide if I want to run back in 3 weeks. Don't usually run in less than 4 weeks with 2yo.

i used to run every 2 1/2 weeks on everything then went to 4 1/2 weeks, Wow what a difference, a good difference. but now Im thinking on the older less successful horses I may go 3 weeks. now on the gauges what you guys did makes sense but as far as Jockey selection every time I have messed with that I get disappointed so I have went through the Jockeys at every track and changed my picks and the top jocks I want maxed out the scale, This has also made a great improvement. I have raced at a track and got one of the top Jocks then next time I ran at the same track used a lessor Jock, BIG time difference.

I haven't messed with the jockeys at all other than trying to have my own name ride horses when I visit that track.

I'll look into this...

8 ran saturday and are rtg now.
2 ran on monday and are a lil groggy.

As for setting jockeys I do some now and then and still not sure how it pans out.
I mainly set horses that lead and get caught in last furlong to 80% and if they still lead set to 50%.
Some times works sometimes not why not sure.
I think most things in this game are random and when you mess around with stuff just cuts back the range of randomness.

I have ran all my horses at 100% effort since I started playing this game..i figure it get the best out of the horse.....now I might start running horses at 80% in a race when I decide to try them in a stakes race after to see if that make a difference.....

I have claimed horses that came into my stable and I seen the horses was set at 50-70% effort.... and figure the old owner set it like that because the horse was in a cheap claiming race.....and those horses did good in the claiming race....I started running them at 100% effort and tweaking their running style and some went on to win allow races and others stayed the same....one of them won a stakes race for me...

as for jockeys....I have 3 jockeys in the game....j.dawg,,,j.dizzle,,,,h.head….if I get any of my jockeys in a stakes races then I just do a jockeys select setting and let them choose how to run the horse.....that choice has worked out good for me in stakes races.....now if my horse has shown that they like to run deep from off the pace then I choose a 0-30 riding style for those type of horses and never let the jockey choose for me.....
