Off to NATIONALS we go...leaving in about 12 hours. It is a 24-hour drive to Tulsa from Toronto, Canada. Wish us luck :)

I didn't realize I hadn't posted after Nationals! Well, we had a GREAT time, it was a LOT of long days and hard work, and in the end, only Duke came away with a Top Ten - although Fleur truly deserved one. Her and I made our driving debut in a class of 23 entrants and she drove BEAUTIFULLY - I actually thought we had a chance of winning! I was a little shocked we didn't place, but there is some politics involved as the judges most likely have seen and know most of the participants, but we were relatively unknowns.

Once all the show results were in for the year, the AMHR compiles year-end "All-Star" awards, one for all North America and another for Canadian horses only.

Here is Fleur's year-end awards:
AMHR Canadian All-Star awards:
Mare Senior Champion and Reserve-CHAMPION
Aged Mare 3 and older 32" to 34"-CHAMPION
Solid Colour Mare 34" and under-CHAMPION
Gentleman Country Pleasure Driving-CHAMPION
Other top 10s - Model Mare (2nd), Aged Mare 3 and older (5th), Grand Champion and Reserve (4th), Amateur Halter Under (4th), Youth Halter Mare (5th), Open Country Pleasure Driving 34" and under (5th), Amateur Country Pleasure Driving 34" and under (10th), Country Pleaseure Driving Stake 34" and under (3rd), Open Pleasure Driving 34" and under (6th), Pleasure Driving Stake (6th), Liberty Under (3rd)

Duke's:

Duke's year-end Canadian All-Star placings:
2YO gelding over 33" to 37" - CHAMPION
AMHR Gelding Junior Champion and Reserve - 2nd
Model Gelding 2YO and older - 2nd
Youth Halter Gelding Over - 4th

Needless to say we are VERY proud :D

We are also considering buying another gelding from a farm in Manitoba who is JET black with 3 white socks a COMPLETELY white face and baby blue eyes. He is soooo cool looking and has already shown and won lots. Will keep y'all updated.
