Sorry - I don't know how to link it the other way-With this colt, i have twice set him on 1.00 lead and he has opened up huge leads and just held. In his last start, I set him @ .70 and he ran his best yet. His breeding suggests sprints and maybe up to a mile to me; but it looks like he can run on. Suggestions? :)

QUALITY RUN(KY)

Nice horse mate.

I would give him one shot at a 9 - 9.5f event, setting him at the .70 again ... just to rule out him not wanting a little longer, and just to set your own mind at ease that you ain't sprinting a router.

Some horses are just out and out leaders, I have a couple in my barns and if they do not secure a lead, they may as well turn around and walk back to the stabling area! Yours seems to have the ability to lead or come from off the pace, but with the leads he does open up, I say that you may have a definite pace maker on your hands.

So if you do drop to 6.5 - 7.5f events, I say give him his head and let him try to run them ragged!!

Plenty of options open to you ... and maybe within the next couple of starts, give it a blat on the turf .... just to make sure.

I was thinking of trying 9.0 F on the dirt next, maybe in a NW3L. Thanks for the input; much appreciated ;)

Personally I would run him in a ALW race again. More non MCOS wins he gets the better he will do in stakes (my experience anyways). The distance looks good though you could try stretching him out but he will likely end up going longer as he ages anyways. Good horse though :)
