New game challenges for you...

Post by sledge4 »

Two months in and I'm still struggling. Honestly, I'm entering maybe half of my horses, mostly because I lose track of when I should train or when do I not. Do I train without selecting a race or do I select a race in 3 weeks and let the game train it. Sometimes I just don't care to enter.

In fact, I've yet to breed a horse, or enter into the Auction (buying). I have sold a couple horses.

What are your frustrations if any?

I just sent Mike a long rant on my feelings with the game. Asked about why the focus on this facebook add-on instead of fixing issues or expanding the game itself.

I am still getting used to racing everyday. However, I love the changes made to the breeding. I think being able to purchase shares of sires and having the flexibility to breed a horse when it is convenient for me to do so, is probably the best change Mike made to the game. This improvement also allows everyone to purchase shares of a sire, ds and dds at different times when it is affordable and be able to try to put together an optimal breeding.

I also feel that it is easy to search for potential claims. Under the races tab, I can pull up just claiming races for an individual track or region. So much easier than having to peruse through every race at each track, one track at a time. I have already claimed a number or horses. Maybe I'll find a gem or two. ;)

Change is always difficult for everyone. However, I think that it is best to look at the positives. After all, this is still a great game and there are a lot of great people who participate.

Wasn't trying to drag out the bad, just know that some are struggling and maybe we can help each other.

Well, I think I must be one of the few who has plowed through the switch to the new game and moved on with minimal bother.

I run in excess of 120 barns and I have not been really bothered by the switch and fell I am pretty much on top of the game and it's new quirks.

My main initial problem was with the dates, knowing exactly when to enter the horses I had trained, but think I have a pretty solid grasp on things now.

Buy shares and breed when I need or when I can afford, but will never go paying any more for sires than I used to in the old version of the game so I really have not had too much change in the sires I use ... just instead of looking for sires at the end of the week as per the old game, I hunt sires when I have some quiet time.

Jockey side of the game, still needs my attention ... created by the way I run my barns (7 groups of 15 barns ... and a small group of residency bp barns) so my jockey selection phase would have to be done 8 times over (my punishment for not merging all my stables under one banner I guess).

Have not yet purchased credits in the new game, nor have I bid races yet (not that I was a huge race bidder anyways) but might look into that stuff in the near future.

If anyone needs a little help clarifying stuff about the new game, I am sure they could post here and get the required answers.
