Contest Ideas...

Throwing around some contest options initiated by Tom (jacklads) ideas...

Contest 1:
Claiming Contest.
Would run from 1st April to December 26th(last Sat of year)
Claim horse then runs no sooner than 1st April.
It would be scored on earnings from all races it runs in. (minus what it had earned before you claimed)
If the horse is a dud then claim another but you would then be starting from scratch losing any earnings you had with previous horse.

Contest 2:
State bred 3yo Contest.
Pick a State i.e texas (any NWRC track works)
You would then breed a 3yo scratchbred using sire from that state i.e. texas.
Would run from 1st April to December 26th(last Sat of year)
It would be scored on earnings from all races it runs in.

Because the scores would be taken from horses page any races count i.e. hot and local.

Contest 3:
NWRC Triple Crown (last ran in 2010). This would feature three (3) restricted stakes races matching the sim/real triple crown.

Contest 4:
Freshman Sire Series - We've run this sporadically every year.

OK thats great, to get things rolling.

I will supply the the prizes for:
Claiming Contest & State bred 3yo Contest.

For both contests the winner gets to pick their own breed and I will breed and send.
Runner up gets 500 credits.

I will do scoring and put tables on a webpage.

i used to run the triple crown contest back in the days...low members,,,health issues,,,cash,,knock me out from doing it.....we had some good horses that ran in our triple crown that went on to be graded winners in the sim....the best was tracy horse solar song...

It definitely is expensive just for the purposes of running it just to run it. It's approx 3500 for 3 restricted stakes.

Maybe we partner with another site and split the cost?

I will put in for 1500 in fact if we do 3 dirt and 3 turf I will put in 3000

I like the idea of partnering up with another small site to do a triple crown contest....that can be fun...
