The NWRC Diary
The Flame Grows, The Battle is Near
On a full Moon, damp stormy night A rider approaches a barn located in a secret location somewhere in the North West. In his hand he carries a lighted Torch with a flame of Gold, Silver and Bronze.
The rider hands it off to a man who brings it to the Gloom of a lantern lighted stall. The man kneels with the torch in hand and lights a pit of Oak, The flame grows higher to revel A Group of Horseman Known as "THE NORTH WEST RACING CIRCUIT"
He then hands the torch back to the rider and says "Be gone Boy for the flame has many more miles to go"
The rider with his eyes and mouth wide open takes the torch and stumbling backwards mounts his ride and flees.
The group of men now standing in a circle around the pit of moon struck dancing flames, Raise their Steins to the stars and in Unison with a voice of the ancient Gods of Thunder, Bellow !
“For the strength of the Horse is the Man, and the strength of the Man is the Horse.”
Then without uttering another word swallow their Amber Ale of the nectar of all that have gone before them into battle.
The Sky opens up as a bolt of lighten creases the wet air and Thunder bangs the drum of Mother nature herself .
The Horse's feeling the magic of Pegasus, rise their paling Hooves to the heavens and seems to dance with the Gods
THE EQUINICS is the battle field they travel too and with them they carry the pride of the Brotherhood of not only one another, But the soul they share with their steeds, For they are the Horses and Men of the great North West with their hearts of fire and Grace of the winds
The wind blows the summer rain sideways into the faces of the men, As are leader walks to the fire "My brothers the time has come and the time is now ! Bring it on!
