The 2005 NWRC Special to the 2024 Breeder Bowl Juvenile

Our 19 year story begins on a random Saturday in October of 2005. How do I know it was a Saturday? Well, RODOTS hadn't been rolled out yet so all racing was held on Saturdays. The race was The NWRC Special, a MSW for 2yo fillies at 7 furlongs. Who sponsored it for the rez, I cannot recall. The trainers in that race have mostly moved on. I do know that race, which I won, was the first career start for a horse named Why Did You Stop.

Why do you stop was a sneaky bred horse. You see, her mare, Fussy Slew, a useless race horse of Seattle Slew x Danzig lineage, had been bred in 2004 to Swain and the horse, Angelic Chant (http://ehorseracing.com/onehorse_inline ... 0500000857) had gone 2 for 3 as a 2yo only losing in a second place finish in a G1 in June. Well the trainer ghosted and I really wish I could have the horse, but that was the end for her, sitting on the farm.
I could however, have her mare by borrowing late in the year. She was poorly rated so easy for me to borrow before anyone noticed. I quickly bred her yet again to Swain, and I was lucky enough to be right and got our original horse in the story, Why Did You Stop (http://ehorseracing.com/onehorse_inline ... 0600022740). She won that NWRC Special in her debut and then went on to a couple of stakes victories before running far too long of a career.

Being out of Swain, there was not a lot to hope for in the breeding shed, however trainer bigkev, who had claimed her when I tried to drop her down, bred her to Dynaformer and it was a smash. I was upset, but I knew what I had to do the next year. I quickly bred Why Did You Stop to Dynaformer myself and got the filly Dynaswain. Dynaswain went on to be a 3 time graded winner and fairly useful. By the time I retired her in 2015, I was pretty much done with the game. I was not playing much, and much less breeding the horse. In fact, until 2024, I had never bred her. She was borrowed every single year with some useful types along the way and a single stakes winner.

This year I have been a little more engaged and my stable of mares had all aged out so I had slim pickings in the breeding shed, so I was intrigued to see what I could do with this one. I found Zensational to be a decent value as a sire and not too expensive for my blood, so I bred Dynaswain, daughter of Why Did You Stop, who broke her maiden in her debut race The NWRC Special on October 29th, 2005, to Zensational, and today, that horse, Dynasational (http://ehorseracing.com/onehorse_inline ... 2500026078) won the BB Juvenile....
