Here is what I think we should try for the Cavalcade Cup handicapping contest.

- Pick 3 horses in each race, most points accumulated wins.
- Points for 1st (5), 2nd (3) and 3rd (1). 9 max per race.

Prizes:
Most Points = 400 credits or prize horse
2nd Most Points = 200 credits
3rd Most Points = 100 credits

Example format when entering picks:

Race 4491.0110
3, 5, 7

Race 4491.0111
1, 8, 11

Any questions, let me know.

I would like to a contest where you make 3 selections instead of the "most common" one selection type contest.

So, after the results are posted you give 3 - 2 - 1 for first three home and then what ever position your selections fill, you get those points ... player with the highest total wins.

I am even willing to step up and do the math after the race results are posted (and I wake up of course) ;)

I get frustrated by the times I have played the single selection contests that get offered up sim wide and have sooo many that finish 2nd or 3rd in events but get no spoils for the effort.

Just my tuppence.

3 Selections and get the W-P-S money for the 3 horses similar to the Longshot luck contest could work.......but if I recall in recent years we have selected 1 horse per race and most winners correct pays??

I like that format as well

How about this...instead of picking a horse to finish 1st...2nd...3rd, let's just pick 3 horses and who ever accumulates the most points wins.

Finishing Position Points:
1st Place = 5 pts
2nd Place = 3 pts
3rd Place = 1 pt

This way if any of your selections win you get 5 points (max 9 per race) and you don't have to worry about analyzing which of those 3 will finish where, etc.

Thoughts?

Yes Will, that is exactly what I was aiming at with my suggestion ... although I do like the accumulated monies plan also.
