Northwest Racing Circuit

I'll leave it up to the residents to decide what contest(s) we run next. Pick from what we have run in the past or give me new ideas and we'll get something going.

I always enjoy the tour, so that gets my vote (if we can get enough trainers to sign up).

I also enjoy the tour but I would like anything that we can get more than 4 people to sign up for.

Here are some ideas for new ones.....

Maybe have a virtual owners Breeders' Cup (or any other major race). Entrants would draw for the real horses that are entered. We could all put x amount of credits into a fund and distribute it to the winner (s). Details would have to be worked out but I think it could be fun and different - using real races instead of sim ones.

How about a $2.00 show parley or a win or a place - whatever. Give contestants a set of races at a sim track and $2.00 and see who has the most money at the end of the day.

I would prefer a contest that does not involve the rezzie forking out for a series of races at cost to the group via the purchasing of special races, so i guess i am against the claiming challenge coz i believe that Will would have to buy a block of races to run this passworded series.

I did enjoy the Hold 'Em contest, even if my stables I chose to run in that competition didn't!

As with many of the contests here at the NWRC, we just don't seem to get the required commitment from our members to make them totally viable and worth the effort.

Instead of giving out the set amount of credits and horse flesh at the end of each quarter or contest closing, maybe we could have a "loyalty" or "participation" bonus for those members who do try to get into each and every contest on offer ... let the folk keeping this place semi competitive and active get some reward for their efforts.

As for the initial question ... I go for the Hold 'Em series.

A handicapping "SURVIVOR" contest. specify a single race every week that residents must place a show bet on and cash to move on. Try to make it a big field (or at least a really competitive one every week). Ya lose one, yer out!

Like Rich - I love The Tour - but if we can't get enough interest - maybe a Self Tour. Each participating person has to win a race at each of the NWRC tracks. First one to finish wins. It might take awhile but you could make it harder (use just one stable) or easier (use up to all your stables)

Roys - I had thought in the past about some sort of contest that requires you to win at every track, but thought it would last a long time and folks might lose interest.

Maybe if we did 2 stables it would go relatively quickly.

I like the win at every track idea...and I think you are right that it should be with 2 stables. Still would probably take a while, but would be interesting for sure.
