Active Member Check-in

Post by sledge4 »

We had 3 people play the Longshot Luck contest this week. Roys is practically giving away free credits. We have 3 (not counting me) people signed up for Secret Santa.

I need an active resident roll-call to see where things stand. If I am going to continue putting work in, then I need more effort around the residency. Participating in contests or posting on the MB, etc.

If you are active, please reply saying so.

If you are around, but not overly active due to the new game or other reasons let me know.

Thanks,
Will

I'm still here.

I posted this on my two of my other residency boards and it applies here also. I don't know if Mike is aware of any of this or just doesn't care but....

I miss my spread sheets that I no longer use to keep track of my Sim horses. I felt alot more connected with my horses using them than I do now. Each week I would wait for the weekend update and see how their condition changed. It was a big deal and I kept big records. I no longer have to do that but I sort of miss it.

Breeding is so easy that I no longer know who sired half my horses as I no longer have to look at them very often and my memory is going fast. I sort of miss the anticipation of the Sunday update.

I never know what day anybody is running because I entered so far out and after entering (as soon as they come RTG) I don't look anywhere except the accepted entry page to see what the competition looks like and half the time I just look at the odds to see how my entry stacks up with the others. After that initial glance, since there is no form, I only look at the result page - which I do everyday because, again, I have no idea what day they are entered.

Which brings me to my last and perhaps biggest point - the new game is very Residency (and BTB) unfriendly. I don't always have good contest horses running on contest days, the races have no numbers which makes it hard to score, you have to copy the conditions in order to use a race for a contest, and it is hard to find and put up races for the BTB - altho there may be a way that I haven't found.

I do love the quickness that things are updated and I love the farm option. Sorting the auction and claims in different ways is a big plus and keeping track of points is nice altho I wish on the finance page we could see what we earned from the auction or claims. Again, maybe there are ways to see this but I can't find it.

I guess maybe this is a case of be careful what you ask for........

I'm still here...

Have not had much time to get really involved since the passing of my wife in september, selling the house, and moving to a one bedroon seniors complex.

Now that I'm almost settled in maybe I can get more involved..

This new game is taking some getting used to...have lost contact with my horses...cannot find races for my horses, and when I do the board does not tell me which horse belongs to which stable...make it very confusing to know which horse to entry into which contest...other than that this is a great game and it keeps me from going bokers..

Will: Keep up the good work and hopfully we can find more member to participate in the ongoing contest with in the rez.

So sorry to hear about your loss Ron :(

I am still around but have been slow in adjusting to the new game. I think we have to remember that this is a new game. I too have noticed that I am not so paperwork orientated in the new game. On the flip side... I really enjoy how easy and time friendly the game is right across the board. One thing I do think might need to be addressed though is the information concerning BP's and money. It's hard to follow how your stables are doing money wise, I miss knowing how much money I have made as a stable from week to week. I also dont like how we have to view BP's, unless I am missing something the only way to keep track is with the magnifying glass. That's one area that I am finding a little cumbersome. I have not tried breeding yet which is why I might skip Secret Santa, just haven't had the time to watch the videos. Have been very busy at work. Plus, I just got back from a month abroad with the wife :).

Anyways will try to be more active in the residency going forward. :)
