I agree with your view Will, I just hate to see this in a race like the derby when millions of eyes are on the sport i love so dearly. But fair is fair. After whats been going on with Santa Anita this year it has me a little over protective. What do you guys think of the no whip rule ? I like it

Yeah, it would seem to be a bad optic, but then again, maybe non-fans will appreciate holding horses/jockeys accountable as well.

No whip rule is something I haven't thought much about, but seems a good idea. Some track just introduced a new whip created by Ramon Dominquez that is softer, wider to lessen the force.
