New Claiming Challenge Starts June 18, 2022 + Post entries here

1st race will be June 18th, 2022. This will give you time to claim and train.

Age: 3yo (only)
Sex: Female
Surface: Turf

** Each resident may enter up to TWO (2) horses **

1) Claim a horse:
a. Only NWRC-associated stables.
a. Must be claimed for $30k or less.
b. Must have ran in 10 or fewer races (9 before the race claimed) AND not yet had raced on the Turf (including the race you are claiming).

2) Run 3 races at different distances (6f, 9f, 8f). Races are 3 weeks apart and are bought/sponsored by NWRC.

3) Scoring:
a. Accumulate points over 3 races (Example, 1st = 5 pts, 2nd = 4, 3rd = 3, 4th = 2, 5th = 1).

4) How to win:
a. Accumulate most points after 3 races
b. Horse with highest non-winning SP (any race)

Prizes:
Most Points (500 credits + prize horse)
Second Most Points (350 credits)
Highest Non-Winning SP (250 credits)

- where do you find a 3yo filly that has run less than 5 races in a claimer for $30.000 or less and never run on the turf

I found one in 3 days .... Got the claim in ..... it had been running in the 80's ,,,, Thought ok this one has a chance...... It ran a 7 yes a seven..... came back injured.....

Ok, that was a concern of mine, I was hoping the restrictions weren't too tight. Maybe my being creative was overthinking? What would you recommend? Increase the max races?

Anyone have thoughts? The races are bought, so can't change that, but can certainly change the claim restrictions.

EDIT: I just did a search and see there aren't a lot, but they are out there. In fact, just found a race of 10 horses that most of them were under the race limit. Maybe I increase the minimum to 7 or 8? I just figured by that far along a trainer would have already changed surface if the horse went that long and couldn't break the cheap maiden ranks.

I think increasing the races would be a good start. Also if you don't find something this week or next you will be running it back really soon.

maybe increasing the races....i just claimed 3 fillies for this contest but i miss reading the race restrictions because the fillies i claimed has raced 6+ races already lol...

Ok, let's increase to 10 races (counting the race that she gets claimed).

If anyone already claimed and wants to try again for a horse with the new max race limit, let me know how many BP's your claim was and I'll reimburse you in credits.
