Mare Leasing

Post by nocaljef »

I had leased a couple last year and then a few this year with mixed results. However, I did not learn of a key point of mare leasing until about a month ago.

Apparently if you can get your hands on a mare that has bot been bred yet, you can still use credits to pay for the breeding of the mare. This allows you to buy a sire in one stable, pay for the mare with a flex 10 losing 10% out of your top 10 stables and turn around and use credits to pay to breed the horse. I found this interesting and I tried it. I was able to get a share of American Pharoah for 850, bid on a 5yo Tapit mare, those points came from other stables and then use 100 credits to breed the mare. Now I know how all these super stables have all these damn bluebloods.

Interesting. I actually just two days ago put in a bid for my second ever lease attempt.

When I wake up more I’ll reread your post and make it make sense haha.

In short.
If you have a stable with 1000 BP.
Buy Curlin share.

If the rest of your stables have say up to1000 BP total.
Bid super 5yo mare that has not been bred yet and get accepted.

Breed horse using 100 credits.

Now you have a true blue blood despite your best stable having only 1000 BPs.
