State of the Residency 2026

Post by sledge4 »

Just wanted to share an update as we rolling into 2026.

First and foremost, I appreciate ALL of you who come here week after week and enter contests. It's because of you I keep doing this. We are small, and don't have some of the perks offered in larger residencies, but you choosing to be a part of the weekly contests and such means a lot.

With that, "financially" we are struggling. Meaning we are running dry in the credits earned through the game, which feed our prizes. While I try to reward as best I can being small, the past year or so, we have been really "small". By that, I mean we are not earning credits the same way we have in the past, even as a small residency.

I don't know if it's because I've upped some our contests prizes too much, offer more contests then we should for our size, or our members just aren't running as many horses/stables that support the residency.

I am hoping that Mike/Frank get a new rewards system in place to help us out.

Having said this, I need to cut back on a combination of our prizes and/or contests until we can build back some bankroll.

Any contests on going like the Freshman Site, 2yo Dirt/Turf Series and Long Long shot luck will keep going, but I will need to reduce the prizes available.

For your reference, we are averaging ~313 credits earned per/week. Just in the Long Shot luck the prize is 200 credits. Which means we are only adding ~113 credits to per/week to the rez account, or ~5800 credits per/year. The 2yo Dirt/Turf series is currently slated to give away 8500 credits. You folks can do the math.

We used to be minimum 400 credits earned per/week, and it was around 500 for a time.

I haven't even replenished the horse prize pool yet!!

If you have any stables just floating around, not supporting any residency, please consider connecting to them to NWRC.

Questions, please let me know.

I transfered a half sister to 2024 2yo champ Dynasational as well as another son of Zensational and a daughter of StarSpangledBanner to indeath2 to help stock the prize poll.
I will breed more to transfer as deal arise.

do the residency earn credits by horses placing 1-5 or just by running horses in races?.... i have horses that have not ran since 2024 and getting them back into races now...

do you use credits to breed prize horses?...maybe hold back on breeding until the unrace prize horses are gone...

I think Mike and Frank need to be a small rez multiplier in place before this turns into a 3 rez game. No doubt I have been tempted over the last couple years to join Orphan, but I dont want to be a part of some big conglomerate anymore than I want to be one of those guys with 50 stables. Sure, I wish we had 10 more active residents to keep things spicy, but this is sim homebase for me.

I have no problem breeding to help fill the pool, donating credits, or maybe even changing LL to a 4 week contest for like 500 credits instead of weekly. Whatever we can do and whatever you need, and thanks for keeping us in the loop.
